This is a well-made and beautiful RARE Vintage Mid Century Modern Japanese Brutalist Pottery Sculpture, by noted Japanese - American, Claremont, California modernist Takao Tomono (1935 -). This work depicts an abstract and modern Brutalist design, with both Japanese and American MCM influences. The glaze of this vessel is robust and roughly hewn, displaying a traditional Wabi Sabi aesthetic.

This work is unsigned but was acquired directly from the estate of the artist. Likely dating to the 1960's - 1970's. Approximately 12 3/8 inches tall x 10 1/4 inches deep x 6 1/4 inches wide. The sale of this work will include an original 1960's promotional flyer by the artist as an assertion and representative certificate of authenticity.
